Come weekend

and I am watching at least one movie on TV.

Right after I wrote about the song, kadavuL uLLamE, the movie, anbuLLa Rajnikanth was telecast on Kalaignar TV that weekend. Though I wanted to watch that song alone first, I ended up watching the whole movie. I anyway, didn’t remember anything about the movie since it had been more than a decade since I watched it. This is one movie that has so many moments that are sure to bring tears to your eyes. But thank God, I didn’t cry at all. Still that movie did leave me feeling sad. πŸ™
Note to self: Don’t watch sad, serious movies.

Last Saturday, mouna raagam was shown on Raj TV. Irrespective of the number of times that I watch it, the movie never makes me lose interest in it even for a moment. Mani Ratnam at his best! πŸ™‚ I can rave about this movie for pages, but I won’t do so now. πŸ˜‰ Talking about mouna raagam, I wonder why none of the channels except Podhigai (not sure if those scenes are shown in Podhigai too nowadays) show two scenes that come before the climax. It has been a very long time since I last saw it. πŸ™ So am refreshing my memory here now πŸ˜€ Scene no. 1 – Revathy walks out of the house angrily after Mohan books her return ticket to Chennai and finds herself amidst a group of rowdies. Even as she starts running away from them hurting her finger in the process, Mohan comes to her rescue and brings her back home. When he tucks in her cover while she sleeps, that’s when he sees that she is wearing the golusu that he gave her. Isn’t this supposed to be an important scene? Why don’t any of the channels show it? The other scene is what happens the next morning. Revathy while trying to apply kumkum on her forehead finds her fingers bandaged because of the previous day’s wound and Mohan comes and applies kumkum on her forehead. Just when they are about to get separated, this happens. Another important scene, isn’t it?

Coming to the next movie that I watched, kanDa naaL mudhal on Jaya TV last Sunday. I just love this movie! πŸ™‚ That was why I found the patience to sit through the frequent loooong breaks in between. More on this movie in another post tomorrow. Am feeling sleepy now. Good Night!

    Suriya,
You like love triangles or what? πŸ˜‰ Revathy sees him dying right in front of her eyes. Then how can he come back alive? Had the story been something like that, I don’t think I would have liked it that much. So I am not going to assume anything & reply to your question. Why don’t you tell what you think she would have done?

    @ D.K.Suriya,
Let’s assume Revathy thinks Karthik died, but he comes back during the climax of the movie, keeping Mohan’s character in mind, I would assume Mohan would have let her go….Remember he was ready for a divorce !!… but it would have been a bad climax…. πŸ™‚

Even if Mohan had let her go, will she go? Please clear Suriya’s doubts πŸ˜‰

eggjactly…even if mohan wud ve let her go…she wont go with karthik and will decide to stay with mohan only..and after hearing all this from revathy…the climax will end like Karthik repenting for his irresponsible acts and his happy-go character and will turn out to a very responsible guy..THE END..!!!

    @Suriya,
Why would Karthik repent for his irresponsible acts ? Didn’t he leave that riot group just to get back to Revathy that night ? And I think Karthik’s Happy-go-Lucky-go Character was his best performance ever….

Let’s say Karthik had come back…..can you answer the following question

What happened in front of the Court that day when Karthik was shot ?? Does Revathy know Karthik did not die , he just got hurt(perhaps Coma )….??

But yeah its rather silly for us to fight about Manirathanam’s story, nevertheless I am starting to like the way thinks are going here πŸ˜›

    Suriya,
I agree with Vinod. Karthik had already changed before deciding to marry Revathy. So your ending is wrong πŸ˜›

Mani Ratnam made a simple story & you seem to be making it more & more complex πŸ˜‰

    Suriya/Vinod,
If you enjoy the discussion so much, feel free to continue it here πŸ™‚

    Aparna,
No i m not competing with Mani Ratnam as I said, we are trying to make Mouna Ragam – Part 2…. I know its impossible but still its worth a shot πŸ˜‰

Let’s see what Suriya’s got to say for this….
    Suriya…..you give up ?? πŸ˜€

wait ppl..i`ll make it clear my take:
Mr.Chandramouli – yes i do agree that karthik bahaves responsibly by leaving that riot group for revathy and all…but this way he is responsible for his relationship with revathy..agreed with that..but nothing more..he actually was a vetti guy only..for which only he will be repent in the end..thinking like “he shud not be like a vetti and shud ve been a very practical person with good job, qual all that and shud ve earned a society accepted image”..

ap – yes i do agree that karthik has already changed before deciding to marry revathy..but whats the use..??revathy has now seen a true genuine person called mohan , she has understood his patience, his care, his understanding nature, his valuing for other`s likes and dislikes…aprom enna karthik..

So in the end revathy wud describe above mentioned points to karthik..and say a good bye..and karthik will realize and regret for his character…maybe here we can introduce another hot heroine who was a secret admirer of karthik waiting for him..and he will marry her..SUBAM. The End.!

and ya i give up for that ” (perhaps Coma )….??” part..i ve no answers…karthik comes back…thats it..no PhD on how he can come back!

It’s funny to read your comment on Karthik.
    >>but this way he is responsible for his relationship with revathy..agreed with that..but nothing more..

You mean to say he is acting for the relationship ? Remember when that inspector comes knocking his door, he says “He has changed” ?? I still believe Karthik was not a Vetti Officer(like my dad says)…but he was about to turn into someone responsible.

    >>So in the end revathy wud describe above mentioned points to karthik..and say a good bye..a

Let’s ask the floor here. Ppl what do you think Revathy would have done ??
