Mandolin Srinivas’ playing has always left me amazed! This one is no exception. Lavanya Rama in Purnashadjam has always been one of my favourites. I am listening to this composition, Gananayakam, for the first time today and it has got me hooked to it now! I must say, this week has been a musically great week for me. 😉
Please listen to this one even if you are not a Carnatic music lover. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Hey
Dont listen to Carnatic much, but enjoyed this. :–))
Thanks for posting.
Sreekrishnan,
Carnatica.com might be more helpful than Wikipedia. But, film songs might also help you in identifying raagas.
I will check out Antonio Vivaldi’s ‘The four seasons’ soon.
SK,
Good that you liked it 🙂
yeah films songs are like backdoor entry to the carnatic world !!

found this pretty useful – surprised to know Singara vaelaney theva and kannodu kanbathellam are of the same raaga !!
Sreekrishnan,
Yeah I too came across that page recently and found it to be quite a good one.
Btw, even Muppadhu Nimidam is of the same raaga, Abheri 🙂 And, parts of Shabba Shabba too!
havent listened to carnatic that much so far and i felt this as nice one.
Purnashadjam, yes, I immediately connect only with Lavanya Rama. I have heard Shri Nedunuri Krishnamurthy render it, I can’t recollect where.
