aNRum iNRum: School-College-Work

School & College: You paid
Work: You get paid

School & College: You are a student
Work: You are not only an employee you are sometimes referred to as a resource as well!

School & College: Bench, chair, black board, chalk, duster
Work: It’s only cubicles and computers here and bench takes a new meaning altogether πŸ˜‰

School & College: Address teachers as Sir/Ma’am or even Miss
Work: Age is not given any consideration whatsoever and you are on a first name basis with everyone.

School: Assignments, Mid-terms, Quarterly, Half-yearly, Annual Exams. Try to study well and come for exams.
College: Cycle Tests/Unit tests, Semester Exams. Come for exam and try to study well in the last few hours before the exam πŸ˜›
Work: Certifications. Do your work, prepare for the exam in parallel and try to give your best to both.

School: You get a break from classes by celebrating Children’s Day, Teacher’s Day, Annual Day, Independence Day, etc. by putting up shows/skits/music performances/speeches
College: You get a break from classes either by culturals or by seminars where the presenter is hell-bent on inducing sleep to the students πŸ˜‰
Work: Cubicle decoration, Ethnic Day, Culturals, etc.

School: At the end of the day, bell rings and you run out the class
College: Once you have decided that you want to leave, you don’t even wait for the bell to ring πŸ˜‰
Work: Start saying end of day as EOD, look at the time at EOD and remember that it is morning in US and end up spending time for onsite calls

School: Excursions to lots of nice places in and around the city
College: Excursions in the name of Industrial visits to some company (totally unrelated to your branch of engineering) outside the city limits and a visit to beach later
Work: Go for lunch at any of the many restaurants on ECR (which not many apart from teams from S/W companies will go to) and then, watch a movie at Maayajal

    definitely college …

no leave requisitions like in office, no leave letters like in school, walk in any time walk out any time … life cant get better …
get attendance pretending to go on college work and hang around at satyam all day … the best part of my life was in college

Well, nice theme, Aparna…but Thirteen will always be my all-time favourite:)

And to me, college is much better than work…especially considering the vacations, highly-flexible timings and so on:)

Wow! Nice look & feel… good template. You know what, I was initially using your old template – that felt like a small room – closed on all sites :))

This is bright and fantastic :)) Good one !

aNRu: Aparna.com in a cluttered design & with frustrating ads!
iNRu: Aparna.com with clean refreshing looks & devoid of ads.

    When’ll you enable Tamil support?

PS: We are sorry Aparna. Couldn’t help you in earning much. πŸ˜›

Nice blog!!Mani and ARR should be every chennaite’s favorite.. :). I see lot of posts related to carnatic music concerts. Since i am not in chennai at this point those concerts are something that i miss. Do you know any online link where i can listen/download these excerpts from these performances?

    Happy blogging!
