Akkam Pakkam

After a long time, I saw a song yesterday that made me want to watch it again and again and again! πŸ™‚ It’s the song ‘Akkam Pakkam’ from the movie Kireedam (Hope the spelling is correct!).

What’s it that I liked in the song that made me want to watch it again? First and foremost thing that appealed to me the most is the fact that the song is so colourful and has been shot in a nice location. The shade of blue costumes in the first part of the song goes very well with the blue of the water and sky! Then, the use of white colour for the costumes for the parts shot in the tree house is again something that I liked. Then, finally the yellow/orange costumes, the contrasting green backdrop, the woods, everything looks so nice! But, I didn’t like Ajith’s orange colour tie at all! That’s the only thing I didn’t like in the song’s picturization. And above all, Ajith looks quite good in the song. Surprisingly, Trish looks tolerable too.

Though I enjoyed watching the song, I didn’t like the music as such that much. Had it not been shot beautifully, I don’t think I would have listened to it! A boring song. I don’t like Sadhana Sargam’s voice also these days. After having watched the song so many times, I am now able to bear listening to it.

Though I listened to all the songs, I am yet to watch any of the other songs from Kireedam fully. I will soon write a post on the rest of the songs.

This song is a complete rehash of 2 famous rahman songs

    1. beats : Pudhu vellai mazhai
    2. Tune: Snehidhane (the place where the stanza end and starts with Akkam Pakkam – i start singing Snehidhane)

The picturization was good, but some how my brain keeps comparing this with Pachai Niramey.

and Sadhana Sargam and madhushree must refrain from singing tamil. I couldnt tolerate madhushree when she sang Azhagai Saaniyidu instead of Sanaiyidu in Sivaji…

    Sreekrishnan,
Oh but I never got reminded of those songs when I listened to this one. But, it’s not an original tune anyway πŸ™‚
You see so many pleasant colours and beautiful location and you will automatically get reminded of Pachchai Nirame though song is not even 10% as good as that πŸ˜‰
Yeah Madhusree’s pronunciation was the only weak point of the song!

    Sangs,
Yeah. I am planning to watch the movie too

    Sami,
Hmm ok. Music is average only

    Hey Aparna,
I was listening to these songs yesterday. I did not find the video interesting at all…Talking about Sadhana Sargam, its a pity that she’s being offered the same kind of songs after Snehidhane…I think she has a very well trained wonderful voice. Leave aside her pronunciations, which I think is much better than a lot of other singers, I think she is very good. πŸ™‚

Costumes of the song and colors, I think this is all we are left to watch in the song, and not even notice the artistes…;) Ajith is so boring, Trisha looks as bored as we are too…:)

Rest of the songs in this movie are not great. However, I must appreciate Sonu Nigam’s song, I love the value add he does to simple songs and his energy levels. Its a great effort in tamil I think.

    πŸ™‚

    Have a good weekend.

    Dinesh,
    >me liking this song too … trisha too …
Maybe your comment must have been ‘me liking this song coz of Trisha’ πŸ˜› Anyway seems like you had a great time watching this movie coz of Trisha πŸ˜‰
Btw, from when did Trisha start expressing emotions on her face perfectly? :O

    Chiroti,
I used to like Sadhana Sargam’s voice a few years back. But, of late, I don’t her voice to be that good. At high pitches like Alka Yagnik’s voice, her’s has started sounding a bit strained too (though it is not the case with this song). Don’t you feel so?
Trisha looks bored? Read the comment above yours to see a completely contrasting view πŸ™‚
Sonu Nigam! You have rightly said it. He makes any song he sings sound very nice. You can listen to a song for his voice alone! πŸ™‚
Hope you had a great weekend πŸ˜‰

    Curious,
Welcome to my blog! πŸ™‚ Hey I liked Vizhiyil too esp. for Sonu Nigam. πŸ™‚ I liked it’s picturization too

    Chiroti & Curious,
Don’t you feel the song Vizhiyil sounds similar to so many songs? When i listened to Vizhiyil, I somehow kept remembering a song (Sandana Poongatre?) from Azhagiya Theeye. Don’t know why….

For Vizhiyil, I have to listen to the song you are mentioning here…from Azhagiya Theeye

Yes, it sounds like a lot of songs…I was trying to analyze that and got confused! πŸ™‚ So now I simply enjoy the song…:)

Yes, I had a good weekend. πŸ™‚ More on chat!
