Stepping out of Cathay Cineplex at AMK Hub, I felt that the children deserved a good play time after the movie experience. So I took the escalator to the floor below hoping to see any toy ride-on vehicle which are usually a part of malls. A series of 7-8 different rides like this one below was enough to grab the attraction of both my children and before we knew it, it was already more than half an hour and they both still wanted to play for some more time.
At the other end of the floor were two more vehicles and toy diggers like these for picking up balls which held their attention for some more time.
The Christmas decorations at AMK Hub seemed very simple with just these hanging banners, lights and a few balls and bells.
On the way to AMK Hub, we had seen a nice, big play area outside an HDB block at Ang Mo Kio Ave 3. When the bus stopped right outside that play area on our way back, I, on an impulse, decided to get down and the children had the time of their life trying out the many different ladders, steps and climbing structures and the different types of slides, including a two-storey tunnel slide!
It wasn’t just the slides and ladders. With the mini bench, the mock clock, the knots and crosses and the colourful wheels, there were lots more to play with. The fact that the playground has a sand flooring and not the usual rubber flooring is a big attraction too.
Another mini sand pit next to this has lovely rocking horses, dolphins and see-saw.
My little one excitedly ran towards a rocking horse only to be bitten by red ants! Clearing the small shoes of the ants turned out to be a big task for me.
The old play area there was nice too.
