It had been such a long time since I went to a concert that I decided to go for this one. It was overall a very good concert. I liked the Bahudhari piece, Saranga alapana, Smarasundaranguni and of course, Ananda Natana Prakasham including the swarams, the most. Mohanam isn’t a favourite of mine. Also blame it on an overdose of Sanjay’s taanams that I am hooked to these days, except for some raagam and swarams portions, the RTP wasn’t much appealing to me.
And while I am writing about concerts, can anyone please tell me if you have any idea when the next concert of Sanjay or T.M.Krishna is here? It’s so boring without either of their concerts happening! 🙁
Looks a good list. Kedaram in the middle with Alapanai and Swarams is nice. Would have liked an RTP in something else though 😉
Sathej
Thanks for the List. I have heard Matada Baradeno by Sanjay in Khamas. Never heard it in Kannada. Must have been good.
Would have prefered RTP in something else. I recently heard one of MLV in kalyani which was exceptional. The pallavi renderd in Sama, Madhuvanti, Darbari Kannada, and few other raagas I can’t remember.
btw if you not fussed about listening to Aruna sairam do listen to her RTP in Bhairavi in the CD called Aarupadai. It is really good. Also her RTP in Kalyani with the pallavi’s of Ambujam Krishna’s krithis. was too good. Guess the CD is called Aruna sairam’s Ambujam krishna’s krithis Vol 2.

Very nice list.
I think that Vijay Siva is a persona-non-grata for Narada Gana Sabha. NGS has not been arranging his concert even for the Margazhi Festival. It was good of Nadopasana Srinivasan to have arranged this concert. I enjoyed all the pieces. But your comments are like “Puthaga vimarsanam” of Kumudam.
I don’t know much about Music, though I listen to it. Looks like you listen a lot to Carnatic music. You love music. It is felt in every corner, every line, every post in your blog. My best wishes.

I heard the Hyderabad Brothers sing “Matadabaaradeno” in Kamas just last week. I know these songs are sung in various raagas, still…
Sathej,
🙂
Srilatha,
Oh. I still can’t recollect what raagam it was 🙁
Kalyani isn’t a raaga that I would prefer to listen often
I would prefer listening to Sanjay/TMK than Aruna Sairam any day 😉
Jeeva,
Thanks a lot for giving the link 🙂 I saw your comment before seeing Sanjay’s post 🙂
Sweet Gabru,
Welcome to my blog!
S. Krishnamoorthy,
Oh I didn’t know that. It has been years since I read Kumdam. So I have no idea how a “Puthaga vimarsanam” is in that. Can you please tell me how it is? Don’t say it’s similar to how my post is 😉
aandthirtyeights,
Oh. I saw in some review of Vijay Siva’ concert that he sang it in Kannada. So I thought it might have been Kannada…
@ Aparna,
Oh..good..another Kalyani non-enthusiast 🙂
Sathej
Hi Aparana
Reading ur blog after a long time.I too heard the vijay siva prog but was not much impressed.Did u hear the krishna vijay siva 9jugal)duo in kgs.The bahudari was excellent that and TMK once again proved his manodharma.
Purush,
I too went for that TMK & Vijay Siva’s concert and I liked it very much 🙂 Loved all the pieces that were performed.
