Unlike during the Season, there was complete silence in the whole auditorium during the entire concert. There was not much of a crowd either at the balcony. All these made for a perfect ambience to listen to the Ranjani, which according to me, was the best part of the concert. Listening to the Ranjani alapana that was a sheer beauty and the rendition of the line kanchdaLa lOchanI kAmAkshI in ranjani niranjani, bringing out the beauty of the raaga and the lyrics, was bliss!
When are you going to post a song sung by you? Now that you like Ranjani, so much, why not it? 😀
Well, Viriboni, Kanada Krithi and the Thillana – he sang it at Bhairavi Gana Sabha too I think. Shobhillu with Neraval and Swarams, yes, have heard Thanjavur S Kalyanaraman do it. Ranjani is another TSK favourite….the four Raga Pallavi by him is really nice….set to Ranjani, Manoranjani, Janaranjani and Shriranjani.

Chandrasekaran uncle,
Thanks for letting me know the raaga of Nadanamakriya.
Oh that’s great! As you know, Nanganallur is too far for me. 🙂 So I couldn’t come. Didn’t know you had sponsored that concert! It has really been a long time since I listened to Sanjay’s Todi. I keep hearing TMK’s only often. Please send the recordings to me. Thank you. 🙂
