Since not many concerts of Mandolin Srinivas happen generally, I didn’t want to miss this one at any cost. Thankfully it was on Saturday and I could attend it. The fact that Mandolin Srinivas was playing was the only thing that made me brave the heavy traffic near Panagal Park and go to Krishna Gana Sabha.
Needless to say, the concert turned out to be an excellent one. I wonder if there can be any concert of Srinivas that is not excellent π The concert had a line-up of my favourites: Kuzhaloodhi, Brocheva, Reetigowlai, Gowlipantu and Chandrasekara (I guess he plays Chandrasekara in almost all the concerts). π Mohana Rama was the main piece. The audience enjoyed the Tani Avartanam as much as Srinivas himself did!
It always leaves me amazed to see Srinivas looking calmly at the audience, with a smile on his face, while his fingers create the magic effortlessly! And as usual, at the end of the concert, I left asking for more! π
have attended his concert one – i was blown away by the sound of mandolin and the magic this man can create – looking for that Margazhi season !!
Hmm… good list.

Had the pleasure of listening to US and his brother over the weekend here in San Diego. As you rightly said, it’s rare and I didn’t want to miss it. Needless to say it was exceptional and thoroughly enjoyable. A true child prodigy, talking about prodigy think you might like this (if you haven’t seen this already) – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H07Yqe5-daU.
