Is what I spent the weekend with! After having had a great weekend, I am not at all complaining about having to work late today also! đ
Movies
I finally managed to watch the 2 movies that I have wanted to watch for a long time now, but somehow kept missing, Munnabhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munnabhai, and I liked both the movies very much. I watched these two back to back on Saturday. đ
Yesterday, I watched Bunty Aur Babli for the third time. Wish Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee act in more movies! The main reasons for which I like or rather I donât find this movie boring is Abhishek and Rani and the music. Though many say that the movie is sans logic or something like that, I like it. Makes for a good time pass.
Books
I am now reading all the Perry Mason novels again since it has been quite sometime since I read those and I am finding that I am enjoying it even more now!
I spent the rest of the Sunday evening reading a Perry Mason novel, âThe Case of the Caretakerâs Catâ. Having completed it yesterday itself, I have now started reading another Perry Mason novel, âThe Case of the Angry Mournerâ. âThe Case of the Caretakerâs Catâ has quite a few nice moments like the one where Della Street is called on to the witness stand to answer if Mason had brought to her home the caretakerâs cat and the way she cleverly answers or rather doesnât answer the question makes the Judge himself remark that part of this ladyâs cleverness must have had a role in Masonâs success. đ The way she manages to surprise even Mason by acting so convincingly as though it is their real honeymoon when in fact, they are just on a mock honeymoon, is something you would enjoy a lot if you are an ardent fan of Perry Mason and Della Street like me.
Music
Between movies and books, I did manage to listen to some music. After all, how can I spend even a single day without listening to music? đ The songs that I am hooked onto currently are for a change, neither Carnatic nor A.R.Rahmanâs!
To name a few, âAaj Ki Raatâ from the movie Don, âBeediâ from Omkara and a few Ilayaraja songs like âPon Maalai Pozhudhuâ, âGuruvayoorappaâ, âSundari Neeyumâ, âSorgame Endralumâ (one of the few songs in which I find Ilayarajaâs voice bearable) and âPani Vizhum Malarvanamâ.
TV
I watched âKoffee with Anuâ after a long time. I loved actress cum danseuse, Shobanaâs costume! The bright red colour of her Salwar Kameez was lovely! Mani Ratnam too spoke about her in the show. Thank God I watched it. I did quite a bit of channel surfing too and luckily got to watch so many nice âoldâ and not so old Hindi and Tamil songs. In the ‘Traffic Jam’ programme on Sun Music, the songs of K.J.Yesudas were featured. It was one full hour of wonderful songs like Mazhai Varudhu, Thanga Maganingu, En Iniya Pon Nilave and lots more. The âVJâ of that show (Bala is his name?) did a very bad job of hosting the show. He kept using the words vandhu, vandhutthu pattheengannaa so many times that I got bored of it.
Now, time to get back to work. đ For all those having their vacation and those who have left early, have a great evening, folks!
I am having a vacation. So,thank you for the wish. And a nice way to spend weekends!

IR song list post? Will be done soon đ
It could have been the best CWA show with mani’s speech i believe. we are not receiving Vijay TV here in UAE (it is coming only in higher cost packages!!). But some “Punyathmas” are uploading some best of the shows in youtube. Let me wait for this one also!
Siva,
It wasn’t the best of CWA. Was just another eposide.
And Mani’s speech hardly lasted for a minute! So, don’t have any high expections!
Hello Aparna,
I am planning to buy a Perry Mason novel soon based on your post.Haven’t read even one.Just curious!
