‘Guru’ Music

Being a very BIIIIIIG fan of Mani Ratnam and A.R.Rahman, the first thing that I wanted to do today was to get the CD of ‘Guru’! But it was raining so heavily that I could go & get the CD only at around 12. From the time I got it, I have been listening to it continuously! The music is, as expected, excellent! There surely is nobody to beat Rahman!

I agree 100%. Rahman is at his best. Every song is a gem on its own. Something new. Something worth enjoying.

    Have fun

    Suresh,
    Well said!
    Hell’s Angel,
You are telling this! I thought you were the first one to go crazy about the SOK songs even before I did and went to watch the movie only because of Rahman’s music!

    Prabhu,
I am currently addicted to Mayya Mayya and I totally agree with what you had written in your review that the best way to appreciate this song is to listen to it with speakers wide apart….btw, I just love Rahman’s voice in Jaage Hain

“Guru” music is typical A. R. Rahman, with an unmistakable touch of the South. Though, the movie claims to be following a Gujarati theme, there is hardly any Gujarati influence in the music. For non-Gujratis, it seems, adding the word “chhe” turns the sentence into Gujarati 🙂
Compared to Guru’s music, “Dil de chuke sanam” is absolutely influenced by Gujarati.
