8 years it has been since the song got released. Still it is the only one song that I wouldn’t hesitate to call as my most favourite one among everything I have listened to till date. Be it Tamil, Telugu or Hindi, it is one of the few songs which sounds beautiful in all the languages, though I must admit that I don’t understand most of what is sung in Telugu. It does not matter whether it is Hariharan or Sonu Nigam who is singing it. Both their voices suit the song perfectly. And what should I say about the variety of emotions it evokes in me today? Whenever I remember all those wonderful times I spent with my sister discussing about this song endlessly after we first listened to it, both of us watching the video of this song on repeat mode almost every single day after watching the movie and becoming absolutely crazy about it, later listening to the Telugu version of this song and realizing that it sounds as nice as the Tamil version (unlike most of the songs) and listening to that too on repeat mode, the Hindi version too getting added to the list after a few years, all the while becoming more and more passionate about Rahman’s music and Mani Ratnam’s movies with every passing day – Oh it makes me so nostalgic! When I think of the times I have immediately cheered up on listening to/watching this song or when I found this song to be the greatest stress buster after a stressful day, all I can do is say a big thanks to Rahman and Mani Ratnam for giving us such a lovely song and wonder about the power of music! When I think of the times when I was so happy and watching/listening to this song made me all the more happy, I know that’s the magic of Rahman’s music and Mani Ratnam’s picturization of it only makes it all the more beautiful! And what about the times when just thinking/talking about this song, brought a smile to my face instantly? 8 long years and yet nothing has changed. Even today, our faces light up immediately if we see the song playing in one of the channels while channel surfing! Even today, this is the song that I turn to when I am so irritated with a lot of things or am feeling a bit stressed. Even today, I consider watching this song to be a great way to unwind at the end of the day. And even today, the mere mention of this song is enough to bring a smile to my face. đ And till date, this song has remained THE best picturized song of Rahman and I am sure it is going to remain that way forever! The combination of A.R.Rahman’s music, Mani Ratnam’s excellent song picturization, Vairamuthu’s beautiful lyrics and P.C.Sreeram’s cinematography at its best! Now don’t tell me you don’t know which song this one is! đ

Nattakurunji
There are times when you are lost in the beauty of music so much that all you would want to do is just listen to it and do nothing else. Thatâs how I feel right now, completely mesmerized by Sanjayâs Nattakurunji. As I listen to the beauty of the raagam unfold with every passing second, I am falling in love with it more and more. I have lost track of the number of times I listened to it this week. I am already listening to it for the third time today! I canât wait to go home and listen to more of Nattakurunji – Sanjayâs vazhi maraitthirukkudhe and jagadeesa (not this version but the one from his Chatushram CD) and M.S.Gopalakrishnanâs Nattakurunji varnam (This one is the best!).
A Walk To Remember
âA Walk to Rememberâ by Nicholas Sparks – This book was on my ‘books to read’ list for quite sometime now, after reading about it in Nithyaâs and Priyaâs blogs. I finally read it day before yesterday and I loved it. It has been a long time since I finished reading a book on a single day. Oh yeah the book indeed wasn’t a huge one but that was not the reason why I finished reading it in a few hours. It was so riveting that I couldn’t put it down at all.

Tag
Puranjoy has tagged me. I enjoyed writing this tag since it gave me a chance to write about my school as well as college life. đ
Life Ten Years Ago
A decade back, in class 8, I was this silent girl in the class who spoke with only a few people in the class and whom most of the teachers didnât know. The home works, assignments, lab sessions with simple experiments which seemed complex at that time, classes all through the day in school that I used to enjoy, Tata McGraw Hill Physics book for class 9, craze for reading Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew â finishing a book within a single day most of the times, a group of friends with whom I always had loads of fun during the class hours and a close friend with whom I used to chat away endlessly all through the day on all topics under the sun (I lost touch with her a few years back đ ), the Hindi (I enjoyed writing all those exams conducted by Hindi Prachar Sabha), Math and music classes after school, the summer holidays when I went to my grandmotherâs place where all the cousins had gathered and had fun unlimited all through the day, playing shuttle/badminton with friends in my flat in the evenings, when TV meant only Doordarshan, lost in how beautiful Nithyasreeâs voice was in kaNNoaDu kaaNbadhellaam, when weekends didnât mean as much as it means now – never did I keep telling TGIF on Fridays when I was in school – Life was indeed fun at that time! đ Am missing those days now! Sigh!

Jab We Met
Having nothing to do on Sunday evening, I thought I might as well watch the movie, Jab We Met (telecast on Sony), since I remembered reading good reviews about it. But I have never liked Shahid Kapoor. So I started watching the movie, not sure of how long I will have the patience to watch Shahid and Kareena. Besides, these days, I seem to have lost the patience to sit through the long breaks in between. 20 minutes into the movie, the first break came and still I wasnât bored of the movie. In fact, I seemed to like it!
