Kaatre En was sung by Kavitha Krishnamurthy. No doubt about that. I don’t think her pronunciation is bad. Only thing is her voice sounds very strained when she reaches higher pitch.

I don’t like Anniyan and the Kumari song too. Isn’t it based on Sama? Very much similar to the krithi, Annapoorne. The music director is Harris Jeyaraj and most of the times his music will be inspired by many other MDs music like Deva’s used to be

It’s a combination of Mohanam and Bilarhari and a few other ragas here and there which happens in film songs a lot. Is the music director any way connected with Deva? The song is very similar the dappanguthhu song “Velareikai pinju velarikka” which again is Mohanam. Kadhal Kottai or some such movie where have this bizarre phone / letter love!! I despair for the latest Indian movies

It’s not the voice, it’s the pronounciation of the words. I managed to hear the song online and it says the singer is Kavita Paduval not Kavita Krishnamurthy Seems right to me as a Tamilian would *never* [atelast I think and *hope*, please pretty please don’t murder the language of Bharathi …], pronounce the word “Nirkum” in the way KP does. Unni as usual is picture perfect.

And yes, I do hear ARR, any good music, I am into, though I rarely go out of my way .. sometimes it’s just impossible *not* to hear some film music. And as ever it sticks.

A few months ago I saw a absolutely mental movie called “Whatever” [can’t remember the name as usual]. The hero had multiple-personality dis-order or something like that …there is a song which goes “Kumari kumari”. The Bilahari in it is worth listening to …Apart from that, the movie was so bad I had to treat it like a comedy and had a good laugh. The way they copied The Matrix stunt scenes was too much. And it was done badly, very badly. You’d understand if you have seen the original Matrix movies. Last but not the least, one thing that stood out as a plesant experience was the heroine. She looked stunning and made the movie a bit more aesthetically palatable
